In general the first inclination of a new member entering the system is via an email titled: NCI Project membership request.
This email includes a link to approve the request. This email should be forwarded to [email protected] where it is registered as a Ticketed issue. The idea is that in the below IndividualRegistrations details this "ticket" number can be used as the primary identifier. Hence referred to as the "258".
Once the new user has been approved AND has un NCI $userID then the new user needs to be allocated a branch in the repository (https://trac.nci.org.au/svn/cable/branches/Users).
svn mkdir https://trac.nci.org.au/svn/cable/branches/Users/$NEWuserID
In the log message please include the users name and the CWS Ticket.
The current setup of the repository has the permissions set to read for all CABLE group members. However, NB: this CABLE group is limited in scope to the repository and is NOT the same cable group agreed to via the NCI Project membership request. The user needs to be granted write permissions to his/her own branch. These permissions are configured in subversion via an "authz" file. This file is not accessible by mere mortals and it is required to petition NCI to make the changes. At present (Dec 2020) the individual who completes this task for us is Cathy, [email protected].
email [email protected] and request $NEWuserID to be added to the authz file for CABLE
