CABLE v2.0

We are still doing final checks on the CABLE v2.0 code and are preparing documentation. The code will be available through a subversion repository at NCI or from the CABLE sharepoint site. Have a think now about how you might want to access the code. In general, if you

a) only want to run the offline version of the code and (b) do not expect to modify the code,

then you can use the CABLE sharepoint site version.
The sharepoint site address is https://teams.csiro.au/sites/cable . For users external to CSIRO, passwords expire on this site every 3 months. If you are having trouble getting on to the sharepoint site, please contact [email protected] .

If you a) expect to modify the code or b) want to run CABLE in ACCESS, then you will need to use the svn repository. The repository address is https://trac.nci.org.au/svn/cable/ . The trunk of this repository is yet to be filled and a tagged version of the trunk will be created at the time that CABLE v2.0 is formally released. To access this repository, you will require a NCI login. If you do not already have one, you need to consider whether you expect to use NCI compute resources or not (e.g. for running CABLE or ACCESS). If you need compute resources you will need to apply for a project (or be connected to a suitable pre-existing project). If you do not need compute resources, we are exploring the option of setting up a project which would just provide access to the CABLE repository. More details will be provided when this is finalized. Information about registering your identity, and then applying for a project (if required) can be found at https://nf.nci.org.au/ . NCI accounts are not usually available for researchers outside Australia. If you are based overseas and have a need to access the cable repository rather than the sharepoint version, please contact [email protected] .

CABLE website

CABLE currently has two, very basic, websites:

It is time we began to update these so if you have any ideas on what should be part of the 'public face' of CABLE, please let me know ([email protected]). CABLE also has a 'trac' page (WikiStart) which includes a wiki and a 'ticketing' system to log CABLE development needs/projects underway. Once we have populated this site with some useful information, and released CABLE v2.0, we will provide some suggestions as to how we can make the best use of this facility. While the main focus of this site will be to provide a forum for those working on CABLE development, it does not require a NCI login and so should be available to all CABLE users.
