Artscript is, in essence, a small app (or big script) to easy convert production file images (KRA, XCF, PSD, ORA, SVG, PNG) to universal formats (JPG, PNG, GIF or WEBM).

The original idea, developed by David Revoy (www.davidrevoy.com , [email protected]), was about a small script to run from the file manager to quickly deploy the desired images. I took the idea and developed a bit further.

At first my version was called artscriptk, following the funny way of naming things because mine was an artscript with a tcl/tk twist. depending on the language other names could have been: artscripqt, pyartscript, artscriptrb, artscriptgtk, artscriptwx, etc.

I dropped the k after David promoted my version of the script in his page. back then v0.8.6. My scripting was so lousy (still is, but less) and the GUI a bit confusing. Most users did not understand the use of the script.

The development has been more than anything a learning process. After the initial release v2 I tried to conform to TCL standards and general coding best practices.

Artscript is released under GPL3.0
