Create an Asset Database

Databases are the highest level node on the asset hierarchy. Locations are children of databases or parent locations. Assets are children of locations or parent assets.

Databases are useful for controlling access. For example you might want to segment your assets based on geographical sites.

To Create a database go to the Assets page and click create database.

Fill out the fields. ID is a reference Id that can be anything. It is useful for finding assets using a company ID system.

Click the Action Button at the bottom of screen and submit.

Create an Asset Location

Locations are the locations of assets. This can have a GPS coordinate. It is common to have children locations.

To Create a Location go to the Assets page, select a database or location and click create location.

Fill out the fields. ID is a reference Id that can be anything. It is useful for finding assets using a company ID system.

Click the Action Button at the bottom of screen and submit.

Create an Asset

Assets are under locations. Assets commonly have children assets. This is useful for collecting data for Reliability Block Diagrams.

To Create an Asset go to the Assets page, select a location or asset and click create asset.

Fill out the fields. ID is a reference Id that can be anything. It is useful for finding assets using a company ID system.

If you have set up asset classifications you can select a classification.

Click the Action Button at the bottom of screen and submit.

Create a Asset Meter

Asset meters are used to record running time or quantity produced etc of an asset. The value of the meter can be used to trigger a Planned Maintenance work order.

To Create an Asset Meter go to the Assets page, select an asset and click create asset meter.

Fill out the fields. ID is a reference Id that can be anything.

Click create.
