using the Merlot / Heads build system, producing a nice ISO is usually easy and reliable. Some build systems on Distrowatch.org are real crappy but get upvoted for some odd reason.

A full remaster from sources of MX-Linux sure is harder and MX breaks every once in a while.

Then you can remaster heise.de c't Desinfec't or some old Ubuntu remaster system but they are trouble often times. Please let us know if there is a better build system than Heads without being as complicated as MANJARO / ARCH which of course is full-fledged.

Heads is geared towards a Devuan-based live-CDROM, e.g. for use in a virtualbox host, Heads is not a full installable distro like Devuan itself.
