Thanks for this, but it is a fairly big breaking change. Rather than changing the signature of the function I'd prefer to introduce an alternative function that won't break things for everyone, and to be honest if I'm going to introduce more information to what is returned I'd rather include a lot more information i.e. the raw data, the position of the barcode, etc.
