allow to read empty mif files (return an empty quitte frame) then, but warn
as.quitte(NULL) returns quitte frame with 0 rows (is also useful if you have a list of magclass objects generated by readGDX, but one of them did not exist)
if IIASA snapshot is xlsx, don't grep around
