Lemacs is based on and inspired by the GitHub workflow, and through it the git toolchain. Because of the fundamental nature of information management, Lemacs should also incorporate other methods of communication, such as Twitter, ADN, and email.

That is not to say that Lemacs is going to be your Twitter client, or that we're going to implement SMTP support (I hope!), but that Lemacs, working together with the services of the host environment, will integrate with other services.

It sucks that there are so many streams of communication happening. The goal is to be able to filter them all through Lemacs, leveraging the system API of iOS etc and external frameworks to rapidly integrate and unify everything, archive them on GitHub, and enforce some sanity on the world.

Lemacs is an app and should behave as an app. When you are referencing someone in GitHub, it should be linked to their GitHub account and thereby all their talk and work. When you are referencing someone in Lemacs, you should be able to link them to your address book, and thereby all your social networks.

Apps connect people to the machine. Lemacs is meant to be the perfect interface between you and the infinite expanse of information that is the Internet, as mediated through the engine of truth and reconciliation that is git.

Lemacs will be that best layer, not because we are the best artists in the world, but because great artists have already created great art, and all we must do as App Makers is assemble that into a cohesive experience that melts into you, so you can melt into the Internet and find your flow.

Lemacs will be the best app available to you, not because we know you best, but because we know how to make apps, and we're eager to teach you to make Lemacs your own, best experience, for that ultimate melty flow.

I am also really, really keen on the 150 People network idea.
