Our Open Source Contributions

This is a practice repository for anyone who wants to try out the open source collaboration workflow before jumping into a "real" open source project. Feel free to make some commits and a PR! For example, you could add to our list of goals at the bottom of this page, right here in this README. Any files are welcome to be edited :)

How to get started

A full list of step-by-step instructions for your first pull request - test here can be found in CONTRIBUTING.md

To run files locally:

npm install http-server -g
http-server

Visit http://127.0.0.1:8080 to view the site

My goals are...

  • do more PR reviews in the projects I help maintain - @jenweber
  • Encourage more women to code , further my own knowledge by teaching others, pay it forward give back to community any useful skills like git and open source contibutions to help others progress
  • to make some contributions to the open source community! - @shawnren
  • Figure out this git thing once and for all #goals
  • Start contributing to open source projects and get into Ember A11y! - @agathebadia

One thing I learned today...

  • how to run a simple http server without using Python - @jenweber
  • how to make my first open source contribution on GitHub! - @ElineJ
  • we need install git hub to the terminal
  • contributing to open source doesn't have to be huge or even code

Things I want to build...

  • a chatbot that lets you know of a new open source issues that you can contribute to - @ajadams
  • an Accessible Ember App! @agathebadia

Strengths and areas for improvement

  • I am good at finding new projects and topics to learn. I want to improve my ability to complete projects before starting a new one. - @mctraore
  • I am a good at project management & communicating, but I tend to overcommit and drown under too many projects! I need to take only a few things at a time and be focused on my learnings :) - @agathebadia
