aerOS

A work-in-progress Arch-based Linux distro built with archiso.

Have a weak PC? Try out aerOS Core.

Requirements

To run aerOS smoothly, you should meet these requirements:

Recommended requirements

  • 4 GB or more RAM
  • Any modern 64-bit CPU (dual core or more)
  • 32 GB or more storage
  • Any modern GPU

Minimum requirements

  • 3 GB or more RAM
  • 64-bit CPU (single core or more)
  • 16 GB or more storage
  • At least an iGPU (otherwise how you will get display output?)

How To Build

You can build aerOS successfully if you get archiso.
This is a package supplied by Arch Linux that will allow you to build aerOS.

You can check the package version here.
We are working to ensure that aerOS can be always built with the latest version of archiso.
If it doesn't, please open an issue, and we will fix it.

Run sudo pacman -Q archiso before running the build script, then you can proceed to building.

To build aerOS, run time make or time ./build.sh and wait. After some time you should receive your copy of aerOS. Enjoy!

Maintained Versions

This is the list of aerOS releases.
For maintained releases you will get official support.
For unmaintained versions of aerOS you won't get that, but you can still get community support and any package updates from Arch Linux.
It is always recommended to use the current release.

  • Each Planning Release won't get support.
That's because those are prototype releases of aerOS and not very official.
  • Each ESB (Early Stage Beta) release will get one month of support.
No ESB release is supported anymore, and they are very broken. Please upgrade.
  • Each Beta or RC release will get five months of support.
We recommend to upgrade from a Beta/RC to a full release to get every feature and full support.
  • Each major release will get one year of support.
This is what you should use to get every feature and full support.
