Patch: describe how to change quarterly to latest #1821
base: main
Are you sure you want to change the base?
Conversation
Patch for pkg.conf.5 that describes how to change quarterly to latest I was looking for information about "quarterly" vs "latest" and found the documentation lacking this part. The information belongs in the man page for pkg.conf as it contains all the relevant other information, with the only exception in the details for "quarterly" and "latest".
What's wrong with this? |
Sorry it took time. I am puzzled about this one as usual in such cases, pkg is not FreeBSD specific and this rule the quarterly vs latest branching thing is a FreeBSD only concept. I don't know if it should be documented or not directly in pkg. I see the point in documenting it better anyway and why one would want to document it withing the pkg manpages. |

Not only that, but even on FreeBSD the "latest" and "quarterly" names are not specific to pkg itself, it is just how things are arranged on our cluster. And the advice to replace |
