Buil & Run via Docker

- Update 'DEBUG' in .env to True

docker image build -t booking-sys .
docker compose up -d  
docker compose down

Build Steps for pip environment.

cd booking-sys
pipenv shell
pipenv install -r  requirements.txt

Create DB Schema on MySQL via Mac (mysql client for CLI)

Start MySQL server

brew services start mysql

Create reservations DB

mysql -u root -p 
CREATE DATABASE reservations;
exit;

Restart or Stop MySQL server as needed

brew services stop mysql

Apply model changes to DB

python3 manage.py makemigrations
python3 manage.py migrate
python3 manage.py showmigrations

Run All Unit Tests

python3 manage.py test

Run Test Class or specific Test Case

python3 manage.py test restaurant.tests.RestaurantTests
python3 manage.py test restaurant.tests.RestaurantTests.test_create_booking

Run Django Application

python3 manage.py runserver

Alternatively, Debug Django Application

• Go to 'Run and Debug' View in VS code
• Select launch.json confirguration 'Python: Current File' & Run
• Set breakpoints in views.py
