Before creating

  • This is NOT a gameplay feature from Civ VI, BNW, or outside - see Roadmap
  • This is NOT a gameplay feature from Vanilla Civ V or from G&K - If so, it should be a comment in Missing features from Civ V - G&K #4697

Problem Description

I have some crossbowmen that started out life as scouts. As such they have the withdraw before melee ability. The problem is that when escorting a worker, they withdraw and the worker is captured which defeats the purpose of escorting.

Desired Solution

I think the best approach is to be able to enable/disable this ability. Added benefit of more control would allow you to intentionally hold a defensive line if you want.

Alternative Approaches

Alternatively, have it automatically disabled when in escort formation. Or have the worker move with the unit so escort formation isn't broken.

Additional Context

Also, thanks for adding the escort feature! It's great!
