Unable to share links phone -> chrome desktop

For several months I've been unable in desktop Chrome links shared from Android phone. I've reset it several times, reinstalled, etc. The only thing I can think of is I use multiple Google accounts on both phone and desktop (personal vs work).

On the phone app I can see where to authorize my personal Google account. On the desktop Chrome extension I don't see such a place. Is this an issue?

The Chrome extension uses the Google Account used on Chrome itself (to sync history, bookmarks, passwords and other data). Current Chrome shows a badge with the name of the account near the minimize button.
