Tested with xenia-project/xenia@3cd748a Hits the following assert: https://github.com/benvanik/xenia/blob/3cd748a/src/xenia/kernel/kernel_state.cc#L543 If the assert is ignored, get stuck on a storage check screen (?), the one with an animated arrow over a chest. |
@DrChat Even with the latest changes xenia-project/xenia@dffc1f0 , I have the same behaviour. I hit the assert previously linked and then the following screen appears: It animates for a while then it hangs. The callstack of when the assert occurs is:
So the function that was called by the game is XamEnumerate. The entry for it in the log is: I can post the full log if needed. Edit: here it is Edit2: the log stops at the assert. The full log until the game hangs is about 100MB... If needed I can find a way to host it. Could it be related to Host hardware? I only have 4 logical processors (so I get the "Too few processors - scheduling will be wonky" message) and an AMD GPU... |
I will try it now in a hyperthreaded i7. I got it to run. Here's a video, I show a few graphical glitches I found, the biggest one is the UI and the other big one is the held item not rendering at the appropriate depth. |
OK so the assert is there for you too but the game seems to continue fine. Of course, the code after the assert is clearly indicated as wrong, so it's expected that it could fail. Still curious to know why it works for some and not for others. Oh well, at least what happens seems logical now. Thanks @EIREXE! |
I mean I am hyperthreading to 8 threads, could that be related? |
I'm currently running with a FX-8320 and getting results like in EIREXE's comments. |
I open the game and when its loading the game Xenia stops working. Any thoughts on how to fix it since some of you got it working? |
@Makoukdji are you using an new build of xenia? also what are your computer specs? |
@Razzile Hey! Hmmm I don't know where to look for the version I have, but the folder I have is called EmuCR-Xenia-20150627-x64. Also My specs are these: Edit: Never mind! I got it to work, but after a minute or so it crashes. I just downloaded another build and it works! |
That is over a month out of date, there have been hundreds of fixes since then, build it yourself to stay up to date. |
The sounds are a little slow and there are some images that are missing |
on launching the game, i have no text on the menu's and the game hangs when i press what would be play game i5-4690k |
So if you load the game directly from the Default.xex it says that there is bad or unimplemented file IO calls (should be added later, but I'm not the developer so what do I know). Though it appears to be loading the version that came on disc or something similar. But if you run it directly from another file the game loads fine, but appears to load the trial version of the game and an older version since it can't load the title update. Probably as a result from the behavior seen above. |
Tested on: xenia-project/xenia@8aac7a6 |
@DiamondMaster07 the demo issue is because xenia will run all arcade games as demos by default. If you read the xam implementation in xenia you can figure out how to change that, but i'll leave it as a challenge for you |
xenia 0f1d116 (not sure if this is the version that broke this) Minecraft Xbox 360 chucks not loading https://i.imgur.com/5GcxRcx.png |

Minecraft and quite a lot of other games I've tested are now crashing starting with this commit: xenia-project/xenia@b17d6f5 Games include Halo 3, Reach, Halo 4, Life is Strange, Black Ops 3, Red Dead Redemption, Panic in Paradise, CoD 1, Battlefield 1943, SW: First Assault & Battlefront 3. etc Tested with OpenGL & Vulkan, and both AMD & NVidia cards. |
xenia-project/xenia@30e0a25 has fixed the crash. Back to state-playable on NVIDIA cards. |
Yep, the default.xex doesn't work, you're gonna have to use \Content\0000000000000000\584111F7\000D0000\49AAD81B9FCDA45E4A03D71BFCB353F8FADB236C58.xex
worked for me |
I have used Canary to install my game content. Title updates work just fine on canary. But this is master compatibility:

Hey there! I found 2 issues while playing the TU42 i think and TU80 Tu42: Tu80: Otherwise the game works fine expect with some glitches in the menu like broken sliders. |
having that not even loading issue with the 'bad or unimplemented io calls' error, not getting what the first person meant by loading a different file (mine is an iso, i had a friend rip it for me from my copy since he has an xbox 360 drive) |
Now works perfectly on vulkan, even on linux! |
I've noticed a problem on xenia Minecraft has a bug where you die some of your items disappear also happens when you break chest full of items. I've tested this on xenia canary feb 8 2023 Minecraft tittle update 1.0.75 directx rtv/dsv |
Whenever I attempt to load a world post-saving for the first time it never loads due to a Crash Error. Xenia Version: https://github.com/xenia-canary/xenia-canary/releases/tag/9da1abbbc Version in use: Minecraft Title Update 4 Other Versions attempted but also produce the same error with world crashing upon load attempts: TU2, TU11, TU15, TU19 Reason I would like to update to Title Update 4 rather than using the base Emulator file is due to Clay Generation being bugged in the base TU1 version, the bug in regards to Clay Generation was resolved in TU2 though overall TU4 being the most polished (at least I think it is) version before Hunger was added to the Xbox 360 edition. Any help would be appreciated, thank you! Edit: I have also noticed that this same issue has been posted from other users though no fixes (with what I've seen here and searching on google for the last 2 hours) have been shared in regards to this specific issue of loading worlds not succeeding but just causing a crash. |
Edit: Unfortunately, as soon as I share this "fix" after testing it for a few hours to ensure it actually worked, I've started to encounter this issue again since seemingly saving+exiting in chunks that have been generated in TU4 that aren't from the original world in TU1, though this is the only thing I can think of it being, it doesn't seem to be that as I've previously successfully saved+exited in chunks generated since using TU4 rather than TU1, I shall continue searching for more secure fixes for this issue, anyone else who wishes to help me feel too, I will actively be checking this github page! |
Seemingly whenever a world does begin to create the "Guest has crashed" issue on the post TU1 versions loaded via. the Xenia Canary will begin to also invoke the same "Guest has crashed" upon attempting to load the world in the Xenia Main. How I am seeing this issue and the cause being is that the Xenia Canary version we have to use to run other TU versions of Minecraft isn't liking something in the world saving side of the saving/loading process, as worlds created+saved in the Xenia Main (base emulated version) can be loaded just fine even after saving the world, absolutely no issues can occur, suddenly when the Canary is loading a later TU (as with why we use that Canary version) once the Xenia Canary writes a save to the world, that world becomes unloadable beyond that save on both the Canary and Main versions of Xenia. Hopefully my view on this issue can help come to a resolution to resolve this critical underlying issue. |
Minecraft shows the IO calls error, still doesn't load |
I am experiencing slowdowns when looking around, and the only mitigation is to look down. Other than that, game works as usual, no crashes or errors. System info: Xenia Settings: |
hey men the yt link is private |
I seem to be having issues with split screen in this game. 2024-07-17.01-17-50.1.mp4I should note this doesn't happen playing singleplayer. I should also note im playing this game through Wine using Lutris on Linux, so if anyone with 2 controllers and on Windows can replicate that would be great. My Specs Are: OS: Fedora Linux 40 (Workstation Edition) x86_64 Xenia Logs are attached. |
