what you can do without any programming knowledge is to fork the project, create a file ShoppingList/app/src/main/res/values-.../strings.xml (where ... must be your lang-code) resp. copy ShoppingList/app/src/main/res/values/strings.xml and then translate the strings to your target language. after that create a pull request to merge your changes back to this project.

you can also have a look at the already merged pull requests for successfully contributed translations.
