Unfortunately, the code use mysql extension, instead of mysqli. It is deprecated since PHP 5.5, and have been removed since PHP 7.0:
https://secure.php.net/manual/en/mysqlinfo.api.choosing.php

WiND cannot be installed on current Debian stable (Stretch) 😭

FYI, looking at https://github.com/wind-project/wind/network revealed this commit: itmys@e0b6217 "Migration to PHP 7", which looks to take care of this.
