Given the lack of activity, it appears that @tomaszsita is gone. I tried tracking him down online but was unsuccessful.

It looks like @mcaskill started pulling together bug fixes that have been made on various forks. I've incorporated his changes (thanks!) and also made additional fixes on my branch. You should be able to use my https://github.com/tpow/wp-manual-image-crop master branch with current WordPress 4.9.8.

I had done a bunch of merging but not much testing or fixing yet. The interface needs a lot of work, looks terrible with a lot of image sizes.

I'd like to use the wp.media interface instead of ThickBox and provide a dropdown menu to switch between image sizes instead of tabs. Not sure when I'd have time for these features, unfortunately. The former, I need to read up on how to use it but the latter shouldn't be too hard to hard to replace with.
