Summary
It will likely be helpful during build season to profile cpu time/memory usage on a method-by-method basis. According to this thread from 2019, this is possible using VisualVM.

Work Scope

  • Figure out how to install and use the VisualVM app
  • Link VisualVM to a running Rio program by editing JVM args

Note: this was attempted unsuccessfully in March, but after considering VisualVM's capabilities, I think it deserves more R&D
