Something that would be helpful for selecting from search results without having to navigate to each one separately would be the ability to unfold a few generations forward or backward from the search results view.

(In the case of someone who migrated from an acyclic representation system like plain text or Freeplane, this would be extremely helpful, because those systems force a big knowledge base to duplicate a lot of text.)
