I think some form of analytics would be useful to understand how people are using and interacting with Sukey. However for reasons of anonymity we can't use commercial products like Google Analytics.

So I propose that we should build our own analytics tool. However I dont know how to go about such a thing so suggestions and links here please.

the most hacky way is stats on a 1x1 transparent gif

e.g. http://www.mailsend-online.com/blog/php-transparent-gifs-and-web-tracking.html I am sure there are others. That was a whole 5seconds worth of googling right there :p

I was thinking js? And tracking activities such as clicks inside the menu and so on...

can you guess a library or framwork for that which does not include a third
party service and can anonymise usage: think google anonymous usage
statistics but obvious not for google in our case =)
