@qjhart @andybell

Andy, can we check if immature orchards were included in the daily average ET calculations? My understanding is that the category is explicit in the Land IQ land use dataset.

@josue-medellin currently there is not any distinction between immature and mature orchards in the ET calculations. All the ET calculations are using the landuse categories delineated by level 2 Land IQ which lumps all "orchards" together.

Immature orchards could be broken out using the yng_class in the Land IQ data but it adds several layers of complexity.

So we are merging into one category young and bearing orchards in the calculations, right?

Yes. That is essentially correct.

Breaking out the young vs bearing orchard could be done with a little time and effort. I think that the best approach is to modify the landuse raster in EE to include the young classes as new classes in level 2 since that is how the spreadsheet is set up to process the raw json.

@qjhart @jrmerz @andybell Lets do that for the next round then. @qjhart who should be doing this Justin or Andy?

@andybell can we do a quick test (not today) for Wednesday just to quantify the difference in vineyards or "{other deciduous"? using this further categorization? Back burner. is just for reference.

I calculated about 7,800 non bearing acres. 13% of 5,800 acres of almonds, and 85% of 8,600 other orchards and pistachios. This is back burner. NO worries.

@andybell Lets try to have this filter for bearing/non-bearing orchards. @qjhart had some ideas.
