Global preset default values reappear after restart.

After modifying the default behaviour and restarting spyder the original default configuration reappears along side my changed version. As a result my changes are not used.

Original settings have reappeared

The settings that i would like now appear under this.

I am not able to get my code to run from the current directory after restarting spyder (version 6.0.1).

Update:
After further investigation, I am unable to get my code to run from the current working directly under any circumstance. Running my script always resets the current directory to my home directory. regardless of the settings in global presets.
