Think about version numbers
For the whole system, for the database schema, etc.
Don't introduce any more such than are actually manageable and useful.

For example, in an app's pom.xml, there are these two:
project/version
project/build/plugins/plugin/.../Manifest-version

The former provides the version suffix of the jar file; the latter the Manifest-version entry in the manifest. Both are used.
