We forked the original project some time ago at https://github.com/salilab/pyRMSD and have since incorporated Python 3 support and a number of bug fixes. Arguably, any users of the software today will be using this fork rather than the original.

This project appears to have been abandoned by its original owner.
The last PyPI release was back in 2015: https://pypi.org/project/pyRMSD/#history
This older version doesn't support Python 3 (see victor-gil-sepulveda/pyRMSD#14) so most users on modern operating systems, with Python 3, can't "pip install" it anyway.
No GitHub issues have been commented on by the original owner since 2017, and no pull requests have been merged: https://github.com/victor-gil-sepulveda/pyRMSD/issues
