Just idea:

Make a list of repositories.
Add feature for user to suggest a new repository
With some kind of periodicity visit this repos by api and update/create tasks in OSSBoard

Pros

We can add popular repos to ossboard, and collect tasks for the first time

Cons

Repo`s owners do not control this flow
Github can have a limit for api requests

It can be first time concept to fill ossboard with tasks
