In fact, there is 2 endpoints type : swarm_mode and standalone_docker We could add standalone endpoints, on every docker (every version, swarm mode or not) We could add swarm mode endpoints on swarm managers We even can link the swarm endpoints to a array of docker endpoints (corresponding to each nodes) to aggregate data of containers/images/networks WDYT ? |

I like the idea of being able to "drilldown" into the hosts of your cluster to have a look at the running container, images, networks, etc from a "standalone" point of view. But when connected to a swarm cluster, Portainer should give you an overview of your cluster (including an aggregated view of the containers, networks, images, etc...), we will be able to build based on the Docker API 1.26, see #461 Note we still support another endpoint type: Docker Swarm standalone which is a mix of Standalone/Swarm. |

The containers view has no real point when managing a swarm mode enabled endpoint. An advanced options similar to the templates advanced options should be added with a checkbox to enable the containers view (active by default).
