How to start with Opensource in GSSOC

I have zero coding knowledge. I know how to use GitHub but I have no idea google Girl Script. So can you provide some link or example how to contribute.

If you're new to coding and interested in contributing to open source projects like GirlScript Summer of Code (GSSoC), here are some steps and resources to get started:

• Get started by learning programming fundamentals , consider Python as it is easy to learn ,brush up the basics , we have free resources to learn like (freecodecamp).

• Now as you are familiar with basics , it's time to learn Git Version Control - a version control system used to manage code changes. You can learn it here from Github itself

• Look for beginner-friendly open source projects that welcome contributions from newcomers.

• Choose a project that interests you and explore its contribution guidelines and codebase. Begin with small tasks like fixing typos,
  updating documentation, or tackling straightforward bugs.

• Learn from Experienced Devs

Start with Git and Github, then shift to HTML and CSS. Learn them both properly and look at the project codebases start forking and contributing while at the same time learning Javascript.
Develop yourself while the competition goes on from Javascript to Reactjs and/or Nodejs.
Till then you can improve documentations and small things too but remember GSSoC is for self development more than just getting a rank so focus on learning something everyday!

Contribution Beyond Code

• Also, contribution is not only about code; you can always contribute to Documentation as well, which is an important part of a project.

Learning Code

• If you want to contribute to code and want to learn it, you can begin with the Python programming language and learn the basics and about its modules. Here is a video to clear your basics: Python Basics Video.

Real-time Project Maintenance

• For maintaining real-time projects, you can read these blogs, which will help you to clear your doubts regarding the topic: GitHub Tutorials.

• You can also start with HTML and CSS as they are easy to learn and good for beginners.
