Develop Use Cases for OCM App across all platforms #1

In order to design the next generation of the 'official' Open Charge Map app a set of use cases are required to define the requirements and expectations for the resulting app designs & implementations.

Platforms which the App will be delivered to include (either as a cross platform solution, a combination or multiple native apps):

  • All Major Mobile Platforms (Phone/Tablets)
  • Desktop (primarily Windows 8.1 +)
  • Web - embedded as an app on both the Open Charge Map site and available for 3rd parties to include on their sites.

Initial Suggestions from Craig Pudsley (via https://speakev.com/threads/android-charge-map-application-work-in-progress.2287/):

  • as a user, I want to be able to navigate to a destination location from a source location and be optimally routed between rapid chargers to get there.
  • as a user, I'd like to specify what type of connector(s) I can use, and filter my experience based on it.
  • as a user, I want to be able to see charging points around me and navigate to them easily.
  • as a user, I'd like to be able to 'check-in' at a charging point to easily indicate whether it was working or not.
  • as a user, I'd like to be able to see info on who's checked in when browsing charging points
  • as a user, I want to automatically avoid routing via charging points that have been marked as not working by the community.
