mapping functions from popular MATLAB packages to Julia

One very big opportunity for improvement would be to map functions from popular MATLAB packages to the corresponding functions in the corresponding Julia packages.

What is the status of this? I may be able to help because I am updating a repository called JuliaMatlab, making wrappers for some popular MATLAB functions if they are not available in Julia with the same name.

Are these all the functions that have the same name inside Julia? or they are just ignored?

If I develope that package to a good point, we can work together to call the functions of JuliaMatlab instead.
