I regularly abuse emabdded emojis in my org-mode files, particularly Apple Color Emoji icons since I'm on OSX (so, embedded characters like 🪐 rather than say a text code like :ringed-planet: that the system knows how to render.
In the Deft interface, these characters cause the date at the right hand side to bleed over a character or such into the next line leading to interface artifacts which are suboptimal (even though it's obviously still usable.). Is there any way to fix or ameliorate that? (I assume it has to do with the emoji characters often being "double-width"). Pic below of the effect.
