The project is too heavy to work on smartphones. But we could make a lightweight version that displays screencaps of map states in the background, like other background images on the website.

Pushed a first pass at mobile transit-future to master. It shouldn't interfere with regular transit-future or tell iPads anything. Instead, on mobile:

  • we don't make the map
  • we load background images from images/mobile onto pages, based on what the post says for "image: ___"
  • there's some additional CSS

Does it work? I'm not happy with it yet. You can add ?mobilize to the URL, or try it in XCode iOS Simulator.

@mapmeld

For some reason, the first map background images - lines.png (formerly all-lines.png) - just won't load in the background since you pushed.

I tried retaking the pic, and renaming it, and changing the css/info in the Github post, but it still won't show up.

That means all the people going to mobile are seeing a white screen as the first map background image. This is happening on local and prod.

Any idea why this is happening?
