Hi, I just installed it and met the same issue on macOS 14.5.
The solution is in https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mchleab3a043/mac

in short:

1. locate it in Finder
2. right click it then Open

What version are you two using? The app should be notarized and thus should not come up normally.

Hi, I am also getting the same error. Tried superProductivity-8.0.5-universal.dmg and via homebrew. Both throws the same error.

All you have to do is xattr -cr /Applications/superProductivity.app after you installed it from the dmg. In the terminal of course.

You're welcome.
But I do not think you can fix it because this will be set by MacOS when moving from the .dmg.
It's a security measure. Imho you can only get around it by paying Apple :-)
(I am quite sure but still might be wrong.)
in the end adding this to the readme will solve it for most people.

I'm on MacOS 15.0 Beta and tried to install v9.0.7 today, and getting the same thing as others here:

Apple could not verify “superProductivity” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.

So probably some updates will have to happen for this to work on the on v15 too.
