I just downloaded the latest Java Decompiler for Windows, which is as of this writing 1.6.6, but can't open anything as the GUI keeps saying "No files are open" (even if I manually navigate to the same class file that I double clicked)

Drag and drop doesn't help either

Run the "exe" file with Java 8 (change the folders paths according to your system):

"JAVA_8_HOME\bin\java.exe" -jar "PATH_TO_JD\jd-gui.exe"

Or, if you are using newer Java versions, create a "jd-gui.bat" file with the following and run the BAT file:

"JAVA_NEWER_HOME\bin\java.exe" -Djava.util.Arrays.useLegacyMergeSort=true -jar "PATH_TO_JD\jd-gui.exe"

I believe that the cause is related to https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JDK-8305072
