Hello,
I just tried to install this on my raspberry pi 4 with a waveshare 7inch TouchScreen (C), and used the config suggested on their wiki and btw you need to add "=" between hdmi_ctv and 1024.
I does boot in the right size (1024x600), i get the splash screen (unicorn) but after waiting a long time it doesn't show chromium at all.
I created a file named chilipi_url.txt and put the url in the first line.
I also tried to set up wifi and it worked the first time (because i see it on my router webpage) but after trying again with another sd card to see if it was the problem (btw no succes) it didn't connect at all.
when i try to plug it back in my windows machine, it just says "F: might be broken" or something like that (idk exactly because my windows is in my native language)

I hope someone has help

Thanks

Croissant

Is this issue solved?

If not ...

  • What Version of Raspberry Pi do you have?
    • Raspberry Pi 4 Model B has two micro HDMI outputs and when I remember correctly only one works with chilipie-kiosk.
  • Did you try to connect another display e.g. TV?
  • What does dmesg (or dmesg -H) show?
    • When posting anything you can mask personal data like MAC address.
  • You can display the current connected display and resolution with tvservice -s.

Some tvservice examples:

pi@chilipie-kiosk:~$ tvservice -s
state 0x6 [DVI CEA (1) RGB lim 4:3], 640x480 @ 60.00Hz, progressive

pi@chilipie-kiosk:~$ tvservice -s
state 0xa [HDMI CEA (31) RGB lim 16:9], 1920x1080 @ 50.00Hz, progressive

pi@chilipie-kiosk:~$ tvservice -m CEA
Group CEA has 15 modes:
           mode 1: 640x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:25MHz progressive
           mode 2: 720x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz progressive
           mode 3: 720x480 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz progressive
           mode 4: 1280x720 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive
           mode 5: 1920x1080 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz interlaced
           mode 6: 720x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz x2 interlaced
           mode 7: 720x480 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz x2 interlaced
  (prefer) mode 16: 1920x1080 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:148MHz progressive
           mode 17: 720x576 @ 50Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz progressive
           mode 18: 720x576 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz progressive
           mode 19: 1280x720 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive
           mode 20: 1920x1080 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz interlaced
           mode 21: 720x576 @ 50Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz x2 interlaced
           mode 22: 720x576 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz x2 interlaced
  (native) mode 31: 1920x1080 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:148MHz progressive

pi@chilipie-kiosk:~$ tvservice -s
tvservice is not supported when using the vc4-kms-v3d driver.
Similar features are available with standard linux tools
such as modetest from libdrm-tests.
