A better approach to open the phone body is through the sim tray slot. Stick one preying tool through the opening of the sim-tray slot and push the main board close to the casing upwards until a gap between the body cover and the keyboard opens. Than stick a second preying tool into the just formed gap and move along the edges of the cover until the main board properly pops out.
As a side this has the following advantages.

  1. The sim-tray has to be removed for this approach -> no damage through forgotten sim-tray
  2. The cable for the fingerprint sensor and the buttons are at the opposite edge. Therefore no shearing off and a very low risk of tearing the finger-print sensor cable. It is more likely that by flipping the main board by 90 degree along the edge with the buttons that a popping sound sensor will indicate automatic clean disconnect of the cable.
  3. This even works when the device has slipped several times out of the pocket and hit the ground with its corners.
