What should happen

Hello,

I would like to suggest the inclusion of an option to use only a single thread in the emulator. This doesn't bring any benefit to the emulator itself but will help in the creation of Tool-Assisted/S.
A software called libTAS on Linux already handles the creation of the MOVIE and the Video/Audio Dump, but it doesn't work very well with multiple threads.

It could be only in the .ini

As a reference, the creator of libTAS implemented this in PPSSPP, but keeping up with emulator updates is a lot of work.

Best regards,

Who would this benefit

TASMakers, maybe? I hope...

I don't think a lot of the changes in that commit will actually help for TAS purposes. All gameplay logic is already on a single thread, although yes, parts of rendering are indeed threaded.
