To answer my own question:

There are several dimension to this.
First, the price alone is not enough, but the price defines the range of the payout curve that defines the profit (as value and percentage).
Second, we have to take certain events happening into account. Initially, the profit is defined by the current price, but once we know what the actual payout will be we have to lock the price (i.e. not let it fluctuate on the current price anymore).
There are several events that can lock the price:

  1. The price announced and attested by the oracle
  2. Collaborative close based on
  3. Refund scenario (i.e. there is no profit)

Once we publish a transaction that, once final, put the cfd into a final…
