As we discussed on the call today, it looks like the causal flow between EGFR family members and SRC might be incorrect. The phosphorylation of EGFR family members by SRC probably requires the receptor activity (kinase activity) of EGFR to allow for the SH2 domain of SRC to interact with the receptor.

I found this in R-HSA-177937 and a similar reaction R-HSA-1963586 should also be revisited, but looks like Src kinase activity on EGFR(s) might be really be inserted between the dimerization and the kinase activity of the receptor. We need to investigate that order of events. See pathway R-HSA-1227986 where this is explicitly stated in Reactome.
