Since I will give a workshop for this project at GCC and in general, it would be great to show what the advantages of this project are, that surpass bio.tools, toolshed, github repos and Galaxy instance centric views of the tools.

Just drop your ideas here and I will compile the list.

I will start

Thanks for starting that. I will probably need that also for a talk next at ELIXIR AHM and then at GCC

Ideas

  • 1 place with
    • all Galaxy tools aggregated at the suite level (not individual wrappers)
    • Metadata from different sources (biotools, bii.tools)
    • Information if tools outdated or not (given bioconda package)
    • Tool availability on usegalaxy.*
    • Usage on usegalaxy.eu
  • Possibility to filter for a community
  • Outputs
    • Queryable Interactive table
    • Interoperable format (TSV)
  • Expandable to training and workflows

Collaborator Author

  • community involvement to the development of the Galaxy CoDex logic via GitHub (no standard user has easy access to the development of bio.tools, toolshed, galaxy codebase)
  • wordcloud :)
