During Enowars 8 we noticed a lot of packets missing from the pcap-files and in Arkime. We are still investigating the cause, there are a few ideas however:

  • tcpdump filter/masquerading is still broken
  • disk IO performance leads to packets being dropped by tcpdump before being written to disk
