along the lines of #123, there should be a way to explicitly disable coloring/anything other than ascii.

Ubuntu 14.04
(seems like elm-tools should support a "--version" command/flag?)
apparently elm-make 0.18 (Elm Platform 0.18.0)
run via an Emacs compile command buffer

Why? What is the usage scenario? How many people will benefit from this? Why do those people want it?

Also, if you output to a file, there are no ANSI codes output.
