Although I set the following in config.rb I still get broken image links on my published gh-pages site (../images instead of images):

activate :relative_assets
set :relative_links, true

How can I make sure gh-pages are published with the right path here?

Middleman is really designed to publish sites to the root directory of a domain.

Nonetheless, if you're publishing to GH pages without a custom CNAME, in theory, your current config should have you covered.

I never publish middleman sites to anything but custom domains. I'm not sure I can be of much help if our current docs in the README aren't working for you. If you figure this out, please chime in here and/or submit a PR to update our README with more info.
