be able to select region regions - ideally with multi select - which is another todo item - and say filter out that which is not selected - the inverse of the date filter
there should be a filter button in each view - for filtering that which isnt selected
the idea with time series is that you would be able to select fragments of a series not whole thing - thats a separate issue i suppose
