I tried switching R-versions and now it is fine to reproduce the same results as before. I think the main problem was with switching to latest R-version. Not sure where exactly the problem came from. Just for the info, the previous version of R I used was |

Hello, I am having a weird problem with
flextable
andsave_as_image
functions, which used to work before fine. I updated my R which also updated my R-packages and now I have issues reproducing the same tables which I got usingsave_as_image
. I would very much appreciate if there are any hints to get back to this phase where things ran smoothly.I used an example from
mtcars
dataset to show my issueThis is the script I used to show
the problem I have.
When I run this script, I have the following table saved in my working directory. Which has a dark background and an incomplete extension at the last time for example which is not nice. But, when I look at the same one saved from R-studio viewer it looks fine again (in the other attached table). I would have just copied this figure for my manuscript. But this would mean my previous scripts won’t work the same way and have to do this as often as I change a tiny detail in the table for several tables. Also, it is nice to learn something new about this. So I thought to get some help on this!
I see there are already some existing discussions on the topic in 2022, but I did not find a convincing solution to this problem here #381.
I would be fine with the black background, but would like to preserve the line formatting settings I have made in the table. In this case, the below horizontal line looks incomplete while saved as

I would very much appreciate any hints to resolve this issue!
