I think that it would be nice to have an option to mount a directory within the docker container and have tf-viewer automatically scan the directory for .fit files (or gpx/tcx files, once that capability is implemented) to automatically import. This would be done on a period basis...maybe hourly or something.

That sounds nice, but I think the "import from directory manager" would have to be running as a separate container.
This should be possible when a proper API (#24) is implemented, which would allow uploading files through a HTML request. Then, the separate container can monitor a directory and upload on changes.
