Disable failing chef daemon

There's a chef processes sleeping and then failing every 30 mins. See /var/log/chef/client.log

Why is it running?
What is it trying to do?

Ah, it's part of the chef apt packages - by default it enables a 30 min chef-client. It's not interfering with our chef-solo, it's just a bit of brain-deadness by Opscode that it happens when installing chef-solo.
