Question: what we can tell the people to use as “proxy for risk/impact” in simple screening study?

For example, a proxy for the heat stroke risk could be a building density x some heat index.

Technically, we can tell this to the user by explaining this in the vulnerability node. One can add such nodes on https://csis.myclimateservice.eu/node/add/dp_vulnerability and I have just produced a simple one to demonstrate how this works.

Here it is:

I have made the three of you co-owners of the study, so you should be able to see it.

@p-a-s-c-a-l : this is a proof of concept. I have added the vulnerability table in impact tab, which may or may not be a good idea. It's conceptually not clean, but it is more compact.

I made a few more tests, you can see them here: https://csis.myclimateservice.eu/study/138/step/4143/view/summary

THE USUAL RANT: OUR SCALES ARE TERRIBLE :-(

@pascal: two questions:

  1. would it be possible to choose two scenaria, one for left, one for right map? E.g. number of hot days today and in the future.
    2 ) would it be possible for he user to turn off the map sync and show two different places next to each other? E.g. number of hot days in Vienna and in Naples.

Of the combination thereof. E.g. today's situation in Naples vs. future in Vienna.

I know it's possible, the question is if it's something we could still do?

These two options would improve the usability of the simple screening. The point is that we don't have absolute values, so users have to live with difference is colors that are often difficult to identify. This would be easier if the differences would be visible on left-right maps.

Not with the current implementation. Scenario Selection implemented by @patrickkaleta would have to support the selection two scenarios. But this is just the first step.

1. 2 ) would it be possible for he user to turn off the map sync and show two different places next to each other? E.g. number of hot days in Vienna and in Naples.

Isn't this a feature that should be addressed in the twins tab? Anyway turning off synchronisation by default in Simple Screening is not a big deal.

These two options would improve the usability of the simple screening.

Regarding the 1st one which requires quite some changes let's wait for the outcome of the acceptance tests. I expect to receive quite some issues regarding usability and even more regarding bugs to be fixed.
