How the maintainer was contacted: used the discussion forum, where the issue has been discussed for more than two years

The package is not maintained by the developer, mifi, but by someone else, chtof. The maintainer has added a problematic script, which has been discussed for more than two years and is still not fixed. The chocolatey script downloads the 7z archive directly from the github repo, but it also adds chocolateyinstall.ps1 script. In this extra script paths and registry keys are generated, including a big loop over many file extensions/types. These are many, probably hundreds of registry keys, which many consider problematic. The registry keys are also not removed when uninstalling the package. After more then two years it is hard to expect any improvement, thus this RFM request.

I'm going to close this issue. Once you have gone through the package triage process, we can reopen it again if the maintainer has not responded.
