I realize we have taken this offline in email, but just for those reading the chat are aware, here is the status:

  • The error OP is getting is: WARNING - Failed to send Voipms notification to 555111222: status: invalid_dst, message: This is not a valid Destination Number
  • The likely cause is the number being used is not currently associated with the VOIP account or the number isn't set up to receive text messages. But will update with follow up once known.
  • There is also someone who had an issue with this on another forum describing this exact error and the fix had to come from the VoipMS side.
  • @verticalhost : It may be worth opening a ticket with Voip.ms just to verify.

I personally set myself up an account to leverage this and see how it works for me and I get a different error:

  • WARNING - Failed to send Voipms notification to 5552223333: status: sms_failed, message: The SMS message was not sent
  • This one makes no sense to me as a am using my correct did associated with my paid account and the error message isn't too descriptive. I opened a ticket with Voip.ms myself for this one.

On the plus side, there are several users of this plugin and it does work very well. There appears to be some edge case being revealed here. It could also jsut be a lack of information on how the service can be utilized. When any info is found out, at best the outcome of this ticket will be to update the voip.ms wiki page for Apprise.
